Why You Need Raised Loft Boarding
The UK government recommends a minimum of 270mm of loft insulation to meet current energy efficiency standards. If you lay standard loft boards directly on your joists, you compress the insulation beneath them — reducing its effectiveness and potentially invalidating your home's energy performance certificate (EPC). Loft stilts solve this problem by raising your boarding platform above the insulation, preserving its full depth.
