The DIYer was started in Birmingham by a team of DIY enthusiasts who kept running into the same problem: the products available in big hardware stores were either too expensive, too complicated, or simply not designed with the average homeowner in mind. The loft stilts idea came from a personal project — trying to add storage to a loft without destroying the insulation that had just been installed. There was nothing on the market that solved the problem simply and affordably, so we built it ourselves.
