Orders & Delivery
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes — we offer free UK delivery on all orders. No minimum spend required.
How long does delivery take?
Most orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days and arrive within 3–5 working days. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order has been dispatched.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Currently we only deliver within the UK. If you're based outside the UK and would like to place an order, please contact us to discuss options.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible at info@thediyer.co.uk. We'll do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee changes once an order has been dispatched.
Returns & Refunds
What is your returns policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of purchase for unused, unopened items in their original packaging. Please contact us at info@thediyer.co.uk before returning any items.
What if my order arrives damaged?
If your order arrives damaged, please take photos and contact us within 48 hours at info@thediyer.co.uk. We'll arrange a replacement or refund as quickly as possible.
Loft Boarding & Loft Stilts
How many loft stilts do I need?
As a general guide, you need approximately 9 stilts per square metre of loft boarding. Use our pack size guide on the product page to work out how many you need, or contact us with your loft dimensions and we'll calculate it for you.
What height of loft stilts do I need?
The government recommends a minimum of 270mm of loft insulation. Our standard loft stilts raise your boarding platform to sit above this level. If you already have insulation in place, measure its depth and choose stilts that will clear it by at least 10–15mm.
What size OSB boards do I need?
Our OSB loft boards are available in standard sizes designed to fit between typical UK roof joists. The most common size is 1220mm x 320mm x 18mm. If you're unsure, measure the distance between your joists and contact us for advice.
Can I install loft stilts myself?
Yes — loft stilts are designed for DIY installation. All you need is a screwdriver or drill. Our DIY Guides include step-by-step instructions for a full loft boarding installation.
Do loft stilts comply with building regulations?
Our loft stilts are designed to comply with the government's recommended 270mm insulation depth. However, building regulations can vary — if you're unsure, we recommend checking with your local authority or a qualified surveyor.
Products & Technical Questions
What screws should I use with loft boards?
We recommend our 4.0 x 30mm coarse thread screws, which are specifically designed for fixing OSB boards to loft stilts and timber joists. Use approximately 6 screws per stilt for a secure fixing.
How do I treat damp in my home?
The right damp treatment depends on the type of damp you have (rising damp, penetrating damp, or condensation). Our DIY Guides explain how to identify and treat each type. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.
